Sailboat turned one last week! It was a wonderful milestone for the whole Sailboat team and we decided to celebrate it with people who made it all possible – our young participants, their parents, our dedicated facilitators and our families.
The Open Day we had organised on this occasion was a great success with many families joining us and enthusiastically getting involved in all the planned activities. It was sort of a reunion too with many of our young explorers coming together to join in the fun. Several of them had also accepted our Open Day challenges, their submissions to which were showcased for all attendees. They will be up on our YouTube channel soon. Stay tuned!
Parents and kids alike tried out their hand at stop motion animation, comic book design, game design, figuring out the working principle behind toys designed in our toy design expedition, and playing a quiz on an app designed in our Android app design expedition. They also got a chance to see fun demos of what kids can do in our robotics and Arduino electronics expeditions, and participate in a super-fun treasure hunt that got their logical thinking cells working overtime!
A very special thanks to Shreya and her team at Design Flyover for conducting a fun session on design thinking. That really got the ball rolling on teamwork and out-of-the-box thinking! It was amazing to see how immersed each group was in coming up with solutions to various problems through team discussions and sketching them out on paper.
We are completely re-energised to make our second year even more productive and fun. See you around! 🙂
